Abby FarakeshBSFR, RDH
I have lived all over Georgia - born and raised in Savannah, I moved up to the Atlanta area with my family and have also lived in Athens. After graduating from UGA and working in the environmental sciences field, I started my career in medical device but still felt like I had not yet found my true calling. It wasn't until my hygienist inspired me to look into the dental hygiene field that I felt like I finally found my perfect fit. I love being a dental hygienist and meeting new people every day. My favorite part of my job is educating patients and working with them to find the best ways to improve their oral health. I also loves being involved in dental hygiene advocacy and am active with the Georgia Dental Hygiene Association. In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors with my husband, Doug, and pup, Lula. I also love to paint, design, travel, and spend time with friends and family.
I fell in love with dentistry in high school while I completed a work apprenticeship program with a local dentist. While I was in college, I worked as a hygiene assistant as I completed classes necessary for the dental hygiene program. I graduated from the University of North Georgia with an associate of Applied Science and completed the dental hygiene program at Lanier Technical College in Oakwood, Georgia. I began my career as a dental hygienist at Hamilton Mill Dental Associates in June of 2015.
I love establishing and building relationships with patients at our office. I enjoy educating patients on the importance of oral health and being able to see their health improving. I feel that being a dental hygienist gives me a chance to change lives for the better.
My husband and I have two children, ages four and two. I enjoy being outdoors and staying active with my family as well as continuing education for all of our patients.
As a dental hygienist, my focus is on providing high quality care to my patients and educating them on how to maintain good oral health. I am committed to making hygiene appointments a comfortable and positive experience. I am here to learn your dental history, listen to your concerns, and plan for a healthy future. Together, with the dental team, I will formulate patient centered hygiene care plans that meet all of your dental needs.
During hygiene visits I encourage patients to ask as many questions as possible. This allows me to personalize treatment and enable patients to be involved in their treatment. I also stay current on new technologies, hygiene products, and attend continuing education classes regularly.
I’m a Georgia native. I grew up in Stone Mountain, Ga. I graduated in 2003 from Georgia Perimeter College with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. I have been one of the Hygienists at Hamilton Mill Dental Associates since March of 2004. I have been married for 29 years and have two grown boys. I like to read, walk and spend time with my family in my spare time.
I fell in love with dentistry in high school and started working at my own dental office as a hygiene/doctor assistant when I was seventeen. I continued my work there as I attended and completed the dental hygiene program at Lanier Technical College, and was an honor graduate of the class of 2005. I began my hygiene career at Hamilton Mill Dental Associates in June of 2005 and have been here over fourteen years.
The thing I love most about what I do is establishing and building relationships and friendships with my patients as I also educate them on the importance of oral health. I enjoy catching up about family and life in general at each recall visit. Providing quality, thorough, and comfortable dental cleanings are my top priority, and I strive to establish excellent patient rapport and create a fan of our office from each patient I see.
On my off days, I'm a stay-at-home-mama of four kids ages 6, 4 and twins that are almost two now. I love my time home with my kids, as well as my time at work continuing care of all my long time patients.
I am another face at our front desk who helps to keep things running smoothly. You will generally hear my friendly voice when you call our office. I am the person who will be happy to help you with your scheduling and insurance needs. I graduated from Indian River Community College in Pierce Florida with my Expanded Functions Dental Assisting degree. I have been in Dentistry for 36 years. I love working with our team here at Hamilton Mill Dental, and we have many wonderful patients. We love to laugh with our patients and make them smile!
My husband and I have a grown daughter and our dog Lucy. In my spare time I can be found traveling the state camping at our beautiful Georgia Parks.
